THE subject of the partition of Turkey has been prominent before the countries of the world for fully a century.

At repeated intervals the different journals, as well as the statesmen of this country and of Europe, have given considerable space to plans for such a partition. The book is heavily documented, but little effort is made to relate the action of diplomacy to the domestic problems of the Near East and the author is not very successful in synthesizing his material or interpreting the significance of the problems under discussion.
